Winter Excursions
Have you ever wanted to run a team of sled dogs through pristine wilderness? Well, you have come to the right spot! Our 1-4 hour day trips or our 3-day winter expeditions are perfect for those wishing to push their limits and get into the nuts and bolts of dog mushing. Rekindle your connection to nature and learn to run a dog team on the Denali National Park Boundary.

Meet the moon dogs and your local guide for a training day. This day we will gear you up to stay warm while out on trail, teach you to safely run a team of alaskan huskies and go over other trip logistics. Think of this day as a way to set the stage for your expedition. Learn about the dogs, the land and the lifestyle that we are eager to share with you!

Get ready to mush! Today we will launch from the yard and into the wild spaces of Alaska. You will mush with your guide and dogs through the winter landscape for 25 miles and into the rugged Interior. After a lunch stop to recharge and refuel you will arrive at the evening’s accommodation: The Sushana cabin. Your cabin, hand-built from the surrounding trees and nestled in a mature forest of spruce and old growth cottonwoods, parallels the Sushana River and is just a few miles downstream from where the infamous “Into the Wild” story unfolded.

After a night of rest, full from great home cooked meals, stories from the trail and lots of indoor snuggling with the Moon Dogs; we will gear up and head out for our return trip home. All of our mushing trails offer views of Denali National Park.
